US cookware company opts for solar power system

The on-site solar power system, which covers nearly 5000 m2 of rooftop, is expected to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by more than 7000 tonnes over the next 30 years.

A project to capture and utilize waste gases from a steelworks in China has become the largest energy efficiency project developed under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) to date. UK-based project developer Camco International has registered the 12 million tonne carbon dioxide emissions reduction project, the Jinan Iron and Steel Group Corporation Combined Cycle Power Plant Project.
