Turkey awards two hydropower contracts
The Turkish General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works (DSI) has announced the award of a contract for the construction of two hydropower plants to an international engineering consortium. The hydropower stations will be built at Borcka and Muratli on the lower reaches of the Coruh river in northeast Turkey.
Both power plants will be implemented as turnkey projects with all construction work as well as complete machinery, electrical and hydromechanical equipment being supplied by the consortium.
Voith Hydro will supply two vertical Francis turbines with an intake diameter of 5.6 m, turbine shut-off valves, turbine governors and ancillary systems for the Borcka power plant. Other consortium members include VA Tech Voest MCE, Strabag, as well as Turkish companies Temelsu and Yüksel.
