Brigadier-General Boey Tak Hap has been promoted to chief executive and board member of the Public Utilities Board (PUB) in Singapore. He replaces Lee Yong Siang, who is retiring. General Boey is also the new president and CEO of Singapore Power, which will take over the PUB`s power and gas assets when the industry is privatized. Other key appointments include: Choy Hon Tim, deputy chief executive of operations; Ong Ho Sim, deputy chief executive of finance and administration; and Chan Yoon Kum, water department director.
Carlos A. Principi has been appointed to the newly created position of general manager of Latin America operations for CMS Generation Co., the independent power production unit of CMS Energy Corp.
Jean-Claude Leny, Framatome chairman and CEO, has received the Henry DeWolf Smyth Nuclear Statesman Award from the American Nuclear Society.
Robert Priddle, United Kingdom, has been named head of the International Energy Agency (IEA), replacing Helga Steeg of Germany. Priddle was chairman of the IEA governing board in 1991 and 1992 and is currently Britain`s deputy secretary at the Department of Trade and Industry.
