Australia has taken a big step to reducing the carbon emissions produced by its coal power generation plants by launching the country’s first carbon capture plant.
The A$230m plant Callide Oxyfuel clean coal carbon capture plant project, which took eight years to finish, is located in Central Queensland.
The technology will use a mixture of exhaust gases as well as oxygen to combust coal at a super-high temperature.
