Skoda Power wins Panama coal power project

Korea's SK Engineering and Construction has awarded Doosan subsidiary, Skoda Power a $45m contract to supply two 160MW turbines for a new 320 MW coal fired power plant being constructed in Paco, Panama.

Located in Panama's Colon province, the Paco power plant will supply electricity to a nearby copper mine owned by Minera Panama, a subsidiary of Canada-based Inmet Mining.
