Wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has secured a contract from power station operator, Eolia Renovables, to supply turbines for a wind energy project in the Spanish province of Tarragona.

Energy Business Review reports that the company will deliver 12 units of the N90/2500 turbine for the Barbers wind farm which will have a nominal capacity of 30 MW.

Co-investor for the wind project is Elecnor Group, whose core business entails infrastructure projects including the construction and operation of wind farms.

Eolia Renovables has already started the preparatory civil works.

Nordex will install the first turbines in April, with the wind farm to go on grid in early this year.
