Business Minister Ed Davey is the frontrunner to become the new UK Energy Secretary in a cabinet reshuffle expected in the wake of the resignation of Chris Huhne.

Mr Huhne quit his post after learning he was to be charged with perverting the course of justice over a 2003 speeding case.

The BBC report that Mr Davey is set to leave his current role as Parliament Under Secretary of State with responsibility for Employment Relations, Consumer and Postal Affairs, to replace Mr Huhne.
