Brazilian state has 14.8 GW in wind pipeline

Bahia state, in the north of Brazil, estimates that it has approximately 8.8 GW of wind capacity in the initial phases of development, according to Rafael Valverde, executive secretary of the local energy committee.

Jornal Energia reports that the projects are in addition to 4.4 GW of wind power ventures that already have environmental licences and another 1.6 GW of wind power undertakings that are in process of obtaining environmental licences.

This brings the total capacity of wind power facilities at different stages of development in Bahia to an impressive 14.8 GW, the executive secretary said.
