Brazil clears test operation at small-hydro plant

Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy has given the green light to test the operation of units 1 and 2 at the Victor Baptista Adami small-scale hydroelectric power plant, according to reports by local energy news site Energia Hoje.

Each unit has a capacity of 12.5 MW.

The plant is located in the Passos Maia municipality of southern Santa Catarina state and is 100 per cent- owned by local firm Passos Maia Energetica SA, according to data by Brazil's power sector watchdog Aneel.
