EDF Energy this morning restarted a 620 MW nuclear reactor in the UK which had been offline for a month for refuelling.

The company confirmed that the Hartlepool R2 reactor was “re-synchronised to the grid”.

Earlier this week EDF restarted Sizewell B2 and Dungerness B21 after a seven week refuelling outage. Also back online on Monday was a 310 MW unit at Wyfla on the Welsh island of Anglesey operated by Magnox which had been shut down for more than a week because of an unplanned outage.
