Gamesa e Iberdrola construirán un parque eólico en Honduras

13 de agosto 2010 - Las empresas españolas Gamesa e Iberdrola Ingeniería y Construcción ejecutarán la construcción de un importante complejo eólico en Honduras, la estación de Cerro de Hula, que generará 102 MW de potencia.

 Los trabajos deberán estar finalizados en los próximos 18 meses, informa Efe.
 
Gamesa se ocupará de la fabricación de los aerogeneradores, mientras Iberdrola tendrá asignadas, entre otras tareas, la cimentación de los mismos y la instalación de las plataformas de montaje.
 
El alto coste económico y ambiental que supone la producción de electricidad a través del carbón o de derivados del petróleo hace necesario que los países centroamericanos apuesten por las fuentes renovables de energía.
 
Un artículo del diario mexicano 'El Informador' resalta el potencial del que la región dispone para producir energías limpias y destaca en especial la capacidad de Panamá para producir energía eólica y la de El Salvador con la energía solar.
