Reliant signs license agreement for Energy Softworx' fuels management software

July 22, 2002 -- Energy Softworx said it has entered into a software license agreement with Reliant Resources to utilize Energy Softworx' fuels management software (Fuelworx) to manage their North American fuel supply operations.

In making the announcement, Ms. Debra Wohlers, President of Energy Softworx stated "We are delighted that Reliant Resources has selected our software solution. Reliant Resources joins Energy Softworx's family of power producers who are utilizing our software to manage their physical fuel supply and inventory, on a real time basis, in an effort to reduce the working capital requirements for fuel used in the production of electricity."

Allan Harper, Director, Solid Fuels at Reliant Resources replied, "Reliant Resources made an intensive examination of software solutions for managing its fuel supply and the Energy Softworx Fuelworx product was ranked ahead of all alternatives. Energy Softworx has a large customer base, proven customer support and they know how to deal with virtually every kind of fuel challenge." He further stated, "Fuel is the largest variable cost component in generating electricity, and we anticipate that this software will improve our ability to effectively manage our fuel supply costs."
